Owner-Requested Euthanasia

For any animal lover, no decision is more difficult to make than the euthanasia of a beloved pet. Yet sometimes, this is the right choice. Certainly, the humane procedures offered at Suncoast Humane Society and at local veterinary clinics have a clear advantage over an illness that prolongs the animal's suffering. When that time comes, we urge you to discuss your pet's condition and the euthanasia option frankly with your veterinarian.

In the unfortunate event that you need euthanasia services for your pet, Suncoast Humane Society does perform this service. We also offer cremation and burial services for your pet, working with Pet Passings.

Euthanasia - $50 (you will be responsible for the burial of your pet if you choose not to have it cremated)

Cremation Services:

Communal Cremation - $50 (cremated remains will not be returned to owner)

Private Cremation - (cremated remains returned to owner) Please visit the Pet Passings website to view private cremation packages Website:

Please note: Only Suncoast Humane Society euthanasia technicians may be present during the time of the euthanasia procedure. However, pet owners, if requested, are provided with personal, private time with their pet before and after the procedure. No appointment is necessary, but please know that you may have to wait a short time outside our admitting area if we are assisting another guest. Our services are available during our normal business hours, Tuesday through Friday 9:00am- 4:30pm, and Saturday 9:00am-3:30pm. Please call us with any questions at 941-474-7884.
