This position is responsible for greeting customers, receiving phone calls and providing the highest quality of customer service to our clients as we assist them in finding an appropriate animal companion. Through conversation and education the Customer Service/Adoption Specialist matches potential adopters with an appropriate pet. This includes introducing guests to adoptable animals, explaining the adoption process, assisting with the application, and processing the adoption. Suncoast Humane Society is looking to hire a Thrift Store Receiving Clerk at our Englewood Thrift Store, one or two days during the week, plus weekends. This individual would be responsible for all incoming donations. Tasks would include unloading, sorting, separating and stocking donated goods in the warehouse, including furniture, being able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time. This individual would have a good eye for valuable items, including clothing, jewelry, furniture, housewares and small items. This individual would also be trained in other areas, such as cashier, customer service, pricing goods, daily register reconciliation, computer data entry, and other duties. Suncoast Humane Society is looking to hire a full time Animal Care Specialist. Responsibilities include: maintaining a safe and sanitary facility, providing humane handling and care for all shelter animals, assuring proper nutrition, housing, and basic medical needs on a daily basis. Veterinary or shelter experience is highly preferred. Experience working with animals or in a shelter environment preferred.
