Donor Data Gratitude Coordinator

Major Function

This position supports Suncoast Humane Society’s fundraising efforts by effectively
acknowledging donors for gifts they provide to the organization. Ensures the accurate and timely documentation of pledges, contributions, and gifts by using a donor database. Additional responsibilities include generating and mailing acknowledgement letters and creating donor reports.

Essential Functions

  • Manage and maintain the donor database, making appropriate allocations of all donations received from the various income sources.
  • Responsible for sending gift acknowledgements to donors and sponsors.
  • Generate, proofread, edit, and maintain written materials for the Development Department; including but not limited to Donor Acknowledgement Letters, Sympathy Cards, Tribute Acknowledgements and solicitation materials.
  • Promote the mission and goals of Suncoast Humane Society.
  • File and maintain records for the department including correspondence, invoices, receipts and other records in alphabetical or numerical order or according to the filing system used. Purge and remove files as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-initiating yet able to follow directives.
  • Can work well with others, we are a team here at the Suncoast Humane Society!
  • Be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong language skills are imperative as you will often be the primary interaction constituents receive, by way of, acknowledgement letters, emails, and phone calls.
  • Ability to use of technology and office equipment including: telephone system, computer, email, Microsoft Office Suite, scanner, fax, printer, postage machine, bulk mail process, other marketing software and tools.

Adoption Specialist

This position is responsible for greeting customers, receiving phone calls and providing the highest quality of customer service to our clients as we assist them in finding an appropriate animal companion. Through conversation and education the Customer Service/Adoption Specialist matches potential adopters with an appropriate pet. This includes introducing guests to adoptable animals, explaining the adoption process, assisting with the application, and processing the adoption. Thrift Store Receiving Clerk

Suncoast Humane Society is looking to hire a Thrift Store Receiving Clerk at our Englewood Thrift Store, one or two days during the week, plus weekends. This individual would be responsible for all incoming donations. Tasks would include unloading, sorting, separating and stocking donated goods in the warehouse, including furniture, being able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time. This individual would have a good eye for valuable items, including clothing, jewelry, furniture, housewares and small items. This individual would also be trained in other areas, such as cashier, customer service, pricing goods, daily register reconciliation, computer data entry, and other duties. Animal Care Specialist

Suncoast Humane Society is looking to hire a full time Animal Care Specialist. Responsibilities include: maintaining a safe and sanitary facility, providing humane handling and care for all shelter animals, assuring proper nutrition, housing, and basic medical needs on a daily basis. Veterinary or shelter experience is highly preferred. Experience working with animals or in a shelter environment preferred.
