Christine Varcoe is our Director of Development and Communications. With more than 20 years of nonprofit experience, Christine brings a passion for connecting people with causes that make a difference. Originally from Illinois, she moved to Florida in 2014 and now calls North Port home, where she lives with her husband and their three rescue dogs, two of whom are Suncoast alumni.

What Christine loves most about her work is seeing the direct impact it has on the lives of our animals. She enjoys building meaningful relationships with supporters and helping connect their generosity to the Suncoast programs they care about most. She is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and served as a co-chair for the Leadership North Port program.

At the heart of everything she does is a simple belief: life is too short not to pursue something meaningful. “Make your life matter”. Whether she’s building relationships with donors, advocating for our shelter animals, or spending time with her own rescue pups and family, Christine is driven by purpose and a genuine love for making a difference.
