(Englewood, FL) – For over half a century, Suncoast Humane Society has been a beacon of hope and care for animals in need within the Suncoast region of Florida. In a monumental move to expand our impact and continue our mission, we are thrilled to announce the public launch of our capital campaign, “Building the Future.” This ambitious initiative aims to extend our lifesaving services and further embed our roots in the community that has supported us for so long.

This public phase follows an inspirational lead gift by Peter and Elsa Soderberg, whose remarkable contribution has laid the foundation for the campaign’s success. Echoing their commitment, we are now inviting the entire community to be a part of this transformative journey.

“Thanks to the Soderbergs’ generosity, we’ve started construction on a project that promises to be a cornerstone of animal welfare in Southwest Florida,” stated Maureen O’Nell, CEO of Suncoast Humane Society. “Their support has been nothing short of visionary, proving that together, we can create a legacy of care and compassion. Now, as we open this campaign to the public, we look forward to seeing the entire community join us in making ‘Building the Future’ a reality.”

The “Building the Future” campaign will finance the expansion of our facilities and services, ensuring that every animal in our care receives the love, medical attention, and opportunity for a forever home that they deserve. The project includes the construction of a state-of-the-art animal care facility, which will significantly enhance our ability to serve the needs of pets and people in our community.

We are calling on our supporters, friends, and anyone who believes in a better future for our vulnerable friends to contribute in any way they can. Whether through donations, volunteering, fostering, or spreading the word, your support is crucial to the success of this campaign.

“Every contribution brings us one step closer to a facility that will not only meet the current demands but also anticipate the future needs of animal welfare in our region,” added O’Nell. “Let’s build this future together, for them.”
